I've just been informed by the local Mitsu garage that I'm going to need four new brake pads wihtin 3000miles - that means a full set every 15k or so and I'm pretty light on the brakes plus no track use.

They've quoted me around £800 fitted for standard parts

Looking at another thread I see that you can pick up a nearly new set of AP6s for a little over a grand - how do these compare? Will they perform better, last longer?

The AP's are fantastic compared to standard. I have just fitted the AP floaters on my VII, with ferrodo DS2500 pads and they are great.

But for the price you have been quoted by mitsi for standard I would uprate them

I would give Performance Friction a call. I've been using their pads for a while and last for ages, plus they kick @ss! Just fitted their new floating discs and no problems with judder, plus they look the dogs [email protected]! Pads I think were about £100 a set, the disc assembly about £200 each.
