I have just had fitted a Blitz BOV to my EVO VI.

Sounds great but found in the box another attachment that looks like a small aluminium mesh air filter that replaces the existing end that dumps all the air.

What is the benefit of having interchangeable outlets. Is it purely cosmetic or is it to change the sound or possibly to protect something.

Any help appreciated.

****.. skeletor - I meant to reply today but got sidetracked at work.

I got teh same BOV, Dragon fitted it for me
the filter keeps any crap out just in case
They said to me that they always fit them with it on so I guess better to be safe than sorry - can't really comment on the technicalities of exactly how risky it would be without it. One thing - the BOV is easily loud enough with it fixed on.
