Hi,

I plan to buy the Nur spec BLITZ full exhaust system for my EVO VI TME. I chose this one because the design looks nice to me and it seems that the system is quite straight which is certainly favorable for reducing the pressure.

Does anyone have this system on his EVO? I would prefer a loud exhaust, because the stock exhaust is in my view much to quiet...every VW Golf sounds better! So, my question is, if the BLITZ sounds really different from the stock exhaust. Will I need to remove the cat in order to get stunning sound?

My next question is the power gain. Can anyone tell me about noticeable power gains? Will I loose torque at low revs??

At the moment I am not 100% sure whether to get the BLITZ or another one...is there a better product with a similar design? I personally don´t loke the design of Hayward and Scott or Magnex...looks too tiny in my view.

I hope to get feedback from you, because I think that there are many real EVO specialists in this very nice and informative Forum.

EVO6LX,
I have the Blitz full system on my 6 , with a PE turbo outlet pipe , no cat.
I am totally pleased with this system , noticeable power gain , didn't feel a reduction in low rev response , in fact it feels even better .
The best part tho is the sound , people often say it sounds incredible , not just loud but a great noise. Even sounds good at idle speed.
Great flameouts 2 http://194.93.140.171/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >
Yr correct about the routing 2 , much straighter than standard , also lighter , and all stainless.
Looks great when seen from behind , big low pipe and the tail pipe is angled up and 2 the side.

hi evoboy,

thanks a lot for your comment.

As you have probably noticed, I am not a native speaker, so, can you explain me what a PE turbo outlet pipe is? Is this the substitute for the cat?

Another question: In Austria, where I am from, it is illegal to drive without cat. How do you avoid problems with the police?? How do you get your yearly permission for the car?

If I remove the cat, do I get the necessary part also from BLITZ, or is this already integrated in the full system?

A lot of questions, I know...but in Austria, apart from Manfred Stohl, we do not really have a lot of experts in this field.

If Stohli is the only one who knows about EVOs in Austria then good night. Seriously though I'm from Switzerland and what the Brits considers as quite is already quite loud in our understanding. With a Blitz where the backbox is relocated you won't survive any police check in your country. I have an HKS Hy-Power Muffler and everytime I see the coppers I shift up and hope they don't check the car.
About the cat. Here in Switzerland when they catch you you'll pay a fine of around EUR 3000 so in my opinion it's not worth it. Supersprint make one and there several possibilities to get one.
These comments are not ment to give you a negative opinion about the Blitz system. Evoboy has already summed up the advantages of it.

Where do you live in Austria? I'm not too far from the border.

Enjoy your car

Mike

PS: The turbo outlet pipe is the pipe with you bolt directly on the turbo. On the PE system you have a separate pipe for the wastegate and the exhaust gases so both don't mix and don't disturb the flow.

hi scoobymike,

I live in Vienna, but I spend a lot of time in Tirol, which is actually not very far from the Swiss border. Do you speak german?
I was considering a Tuning package from Digit-Power, I think you know them. I was shocked about the price! They wanted approximately 9000 SFR for 340 bhp. Do you know a specialised tuner for the EVO located in Switzerland, with normal prices?

He will probably tell you about GTO Evolution now http://194.93.140.171/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

You could buy a racing cat or whatever they call it, Digit Power actually have them for your car, but I think they are SFR 1,500.

How would the stupid Police know if you have a cat or not? Do they actually measure your emissions right there on the street? For the yearly check, I guess you just remove it for the check and put it back (the decat). Supersprint I think make a decat that looks like it is a cat (Italians[img]http://194.93.140.171/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >)

You can get a titanium exhaust, very light weight, from Japan. What matters for maximum gas flow is internal exhaust diameter, but remember eine Kette ist nur so stark wie ihr schwächstes Glied, ie. make sure THE WHOLE exhaust is the same huge diameter.

Don't anything from Digit-Power (there are some who didhttp://194.93.140.171/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >). There are other possibilities like GTO Evolution, Eggenberger, Ralliart Germany etc. Drop me an e-mail so we can discuss that in German

Claudius

here where I live they conduct test with a Abgastester so if they detect a bit of CO you're dead meat. This cost you the price of a Motec ECU.

Supersprint makes a cat for racing purposes, what you mean are resonators not a cat fake.

Cheers

Mike
