BG44k Fuel System Cleaner......?

Hi All,

I dont want to open a can of worms with this as I dare say its been covered....

I took by compeny vehicle into KWIKFIT today for a couple of front tyres and whilst they were being fitted I got a quote for tyres on the EVO as a comparison to others..... As soon as the lads behind the counter heard EVO9 thats when the 'Have you seen my mates........?', 'My last car did 0 - 3 Million in 1 second'............ etc sort o chat. One lad that appeared level headed and did not have a really really believable story started plugging this BG44k stuff which I have never heard of before. I have never really gone in for additives but he got me really interested.........

Anyone got a basic opinion 'Good or Bad'..........

35k miles w/decat.

Cheers.

I've never used it personally...however I've never heard it recommended by any tuner or garage. If £15 of "whatever" in your tank improved fuel efficiency and regained lost power wouldn't you be having it as part of your service? Wouldn't the government be handing it out for free?

Mythbusters have tested various fuel efficient products and none of them have worked under scientific testing.

The coupe de grace, however, is a basic internet search. 100% approval with comments like "now my car pulls like a train", "much better throttle response" and "it has transformed my car". In other words, snake-oil.

IMEO :)

Edit: BTW what price did the tyres come out at? :D
Think he focused on goodyear. 255 35 ZR18 with free alignment £700 on the button. I thought that was pretty damn good. Only asked coz heard about the 25% thing on the way to the garage

Not really resaerched the tyres as still got a good few fast miles left on my P-ZERO's.

Not a bad price actually including balancing fitting and alignment.
