Hello. I have a JDM Lancer Evolution VI GSR, driven 145,000km. When I start car, AYC light is off. After driving ~0.2km it illuminates. Haven't noticed any torque/steering problems (would notice since It's icy af on here).

AYC pump has been upgraded by previous owner 25,000km ago including AYC fluids ofc. I heard from local Mitsubishi dealer that it is because of higher pressure, upgraded/stronger pump and that It's located higher (on trunk drivers side) causing so. But couldn't say for sure.

Car works normally and it's not causing any problems when driving, but would like to find out since I have nothing better to do. Anyone else had similiar problem?

probably the pump failing, they fail all too often

You need to get the fault codes read for the AYC, you can do this yourself by flashing the codes out. A search for 'flashing fault codes' should show you how

Code 41 & 82. But I doubt the pump with not Even 30k driven.

TPS and electric pump system

Pretty sure it will be the pump. Its a corrosion issue rather than a ware and tare mileage issue

41 is tps as said but a generic fault code

82 is pump failure, do you have any leaks? have you checked the fluid level? could be dragging in air as usually when you drive that little distance its air related and needs bleeding, or the pump has an issue internally

it cant be upgraded to run higher pressure either

Car was in was garage last day and was dry in evening. Checked for leaks, but nothing found. Fluid level was good.

Sorry for bring inactive. I was searching cars history and got the last owners for sale post/info (bought myself from dealer). He stated in selling information that It's NEW, more powerful/efficient ayc-pump.

The dealer said only that It's been tested before selling and was working perfectly despite the ayc light. That is all they had to tell.

Could The problem be air dragging in lines? If so, i'll give a try to bleed the system.

air in the lines will not give problems.. only if it had air in the pump itself... (which you tend to get after refurbishment)

so pump hasnt bee refurbished just checked if it was working then, sounds like you need it building tbh now

Located the source of problem. It is AYC relay. Changing it this weeks thursday when I receive replacement Part.

Update

Changed relay and changed AYC fluids and aired the system. Did a test run, no ayc light and everything was working without problems. So problem fixed. Can close this thread and thanks for the help.
