I have a Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 2015 plate, my OBD2 reported bank 1 sensor 2 P0138, the car drives perfectly, but the engine management was on. Contacted Vauxhall agent, they advised that they carried out a diagnostic check at £120, which they did and confirmed it was the sensor after the Cat. It cost me £339 which is a real rip off. Contacted Vauxhall who said there was a possibility they would contribute towards the cost, and gave me a claim number. In the end they refused because the car had only done 9500 miles, and because I only did short journeys, condensation would stay in exhaust, thereby making the sensor fail. The best bet is to just change the sensor, forget the diagnostic, as cheaper than the total I paid. So the answer is don’t do short journeys, take it for a good clear out, but then you will get told you do too many miles, at the cost of petrol going through the roof. I won’t ever get another Vauxhall as I just think they cooked up the story.
Whats the point of the OBD2 reporting it if you have to still check it with diagnostic, sensors are supposed to last up to 90,000 miles, well done Vauxhall.
