Blade,

I haven't replied on the other thread, as I would like to see it drop off the list.

I still stand by my comment on people loosing the plot, but obviously not you.

I will not be commenting on bad track day companies, as its not the track organisers, but the drivers attending that are getting to me.

Unfortunately, I will not be attending Donnington and will only be going to club and private, track events/competitions in the future.

I hope you do get into Sprinting and we meet in competition one day, probably be in different class, as I will be selling the Evo later this year.

I don't think we did ever meet, as I have only taken the Evo to a limited number of tracks and that wasn't one of them.

One thing I did forget, was that track days are about driver development ( and having fun). Obviously I am missing the latter and it sounds like your enjoying every minute of it.

Hope you didn't loose any sleep over the thread attack.

Cheers

Charles

No worries - I am curious as to what you actually experienced (in terms of the bad driving). Must of been pretty awful to actually make you not want to go to track days anymore. My memories of them are all fond to date - have I been lucky so far then? Are you not going to Donnington anymore then?

You could make it up to me :) by helping me out a little! Although I talk about wanting to do sprints and hillclimbs, I know very little about it. Sounds like you know more about it, so any info would be of great interest.

Although I may not be able to race, I am also keen on finding a series that my EVO could enter - someone suggested one of the mod prod series, or even the British Touring cars (one of the sub classes). Again, all greek to me!

Cheers

Tony

ALso - what do you think of this Haynes thing? Not a track day, almost competitive! Sound like fun? Thinking about doing it....

You selling the EVO - what you going to get instead, and why you selling it?

Sorry for the questions! Just curious as always!

Jeez, what was all that about, just got back from a fortnight away. I am also curious about bad track day experiences, maybe I've just been lucky and managed to go on ones where people have been gentlemenly drivers and happy to chat about car and driver development. I've thoroughly enjoyed passenger laps with Blade and others, so they could demonstrate the advantages of thorough car development and driver tuition.

Thread says it all. He got the wrong end of the stick for some reason about my postings. I think he thought I was one of those track day idiots who is dangerous on the track and usually gets black flagged, which isn't the case. There is another post further down Message to Blade and other track day boasters...

Don't worry about it - how's the car? New brakes good? I am looking forward to the 31/10 at Donny - there is a 550bhp Escort Cossie and 270bhp Exige Supercharged, 964 RSR and a 355. Be interesting to see how the car stacks up to those cars. It is in being mapped properly and finished off, so should be much better (and let's hope more reliable!!)

Shame u can't make that one.
