I'm considering changing my ECU to a programmable ECU.

I have been very happy with the Power Engineering ECU, where they reprogram your existing one to your requirements.

Thanks blade, but my EVO is in Hong Kong - where i work - and I can't get access to P Eng. That's why I have to go the Japanese route......pretty cheap here though!

If you want an fconv go for the pro.
It also depends on what other thinghs you want to change on your evo, as for example JUN uses an fcon v pro for their evo, and they program it, but if you don't go for big modifications the apexi should include a few more options with is separate controller, but I don't know a lot about it.
Probably both of them are good choices but you need someone to program it, so it's better if you buy it directly from some tuner as JUN,TOP SECRET or HKS KANSAI.

Claudius will get the fcon v pro soon.

I don't intend to do any really heavy mods to the car just: HKS RS induction, HKS extention kit, HKS EVC..........just need something to avoid the fuel cuts when I goto around 1.4 - 1.5bar peak. I will get the con rods done soon to keep everything in place.

My local tuner here in HK invites Japanese HKS and Apexi specialist to fly to HK every 2 to 3 months to tune our ECUs on a rolling road.....pretty good service if you can afford it(500 quid a pop)!
