I know you can get a 332mm front kit for the Evo 7-8, but can I fit onto my 7 a kit from a 6 (330mm) without any problems or modifications ? Evo 5 to 8 Brembos seem to be interchangable so why are the 7-8 AP's fractionally larger ?

i think you will find that the difference is just the mounting plate, i think the discs and calipers are same,, but dont chew my head off if im incorrect,

there was a guy on here who put a 7 kitt on a 6 and coulndt get the wheels on so he ground the calipers down......................

i think he was taken away by two men in white jackets .........

As Steve says I think its just a different mounting bracket - a phone call to AP should sort it out ;)

Darryl

And yes the 330 E5/6 kit is a special (smaller size) disc and caliper so it fits under the E5/6 OZ wheel. An E7 caliper will almost fit but needs very slight filing down and 3mm spacers - or there is of course the angle grinder technique :D

ha ha

that was me who ground down the e7 calipers to fit on a 6. you also needed bigger spacers to move the caliper inboard to centralise it on the disk.

actually if you fitted the e8 enkies you wouldn't have to take any meat off the caliper as they are much less bulky than tme enkies (and half an inch wider).

fitiing e6 disk on an e7 might be more of a problem, not because of lack of space but to centralise the caliper on the disk you might have to grind back some of the mating face which would require proper machining to keep it all paralell.

and now here come those lovely men in their white coats.......

Ahh a little machineing is all thats needed, my mate has slapped Jag four pots on the front of his beemer and skoda four pots to the back, strengthened the rear and front axles with square section bar all welded in strategic places, made a six into one full exhaust system, rebuilt the whole engine from complete scratch (brought a new block) and slapped a Merc SLK 320 super charger on for good measure, oh yeah and a 100 shot of nos on a home made system including a spec built solenoid, to activate it. That car stops on a penny. u can come over and still see my face mark from last time he slapped the brakes on to test!!!!!!!!!!
