Alright chaps.

I've been around these waters a while. Had an evo 6 back in 2009 but lurk in here most days. If only for the red tme comedy threads ..

Anyhow. Thought I'd share my car with you.

It's 1 of 2 in the uk in this colour.

I previously had a white one but had to get this one , it's premium deep violet pearl which is pretty much the same as the Nissan "midnight purple "

..

Luckily for me I retained a few parts from my white one. I'll be swapping the 60rs for my toda catback and decat and getting the map tweaked to suit.

I've also retained my plate FD02RRR

My mugen GP wheels will also be going on , along with ;

Cusco front and rear anti roll bars
Eibach rear camber arms
Project mu club racer discs front and rear
Project mu teflon brake lines
Project mu ns400 rear pads
Project mu hc800 front pads
Js racing strut brace
Mugen plug cover
Spoon gear knob
Spoon baffled sump

When they arrive ..

Mugen carbon bonnet
Feels carbon diffuser.

I have already fitted my mugen oil cap and feels rad cap , along with my Seeker carbon blade

Some pics.

At auction.

Imported by torque gt , grade 4.5b

So Ron had it for a year but he now has an itch for an FK2.

In I stepped , went and had a look. All good with me , a deal was made.

Then the removal of my existing mods commenced.

Thanks to Tgm and my local jap specialist for the quick turnaround

I requested that the aux belt was changed before I collected it. So thanks to dream automotive for that.

In the mean time I cleaned up my GP wheels and exhaust

Then I collected the car yesterday.

This morning I fitted my carbon seeker blade and debaged one side of the rear.

I then gave it a foam and wash.

Also fitted my spoon ti knob and engine bay trinkets.

I then went for a little drive out and took a couple more photos.

Some random head unit pics.

Worth noting it has Honda access "bass works which I know little about but is an upgraded speaker option.

The car was there for the ohlins coilovers fitment , along with eibach adjustable camber arms , cusco front and rear anti roll bars, mugen front grill, also the spoon interior rear view mirror glass was fitted.

Small piece of interior boot trim removed to make it easy to adjust rear rebound.

Ohlins sit very nice indeed.

Mugen grill.. can't wait for the bonnet now !!

Very happy with the coilovers and of course the work by Tgm , excellent as usual.

I've set the rebound ten clicks back from hardest setting but will experiment once I've got the boxes out of the car , likely to be the weekend.. initial thoughts are that they are very very good indeed, however the heavens opened and my journey back from Tgm is roughly ten miles of motorway and 3-4 miles of town roads and it was end of day commute time for most of the "special drivers"

More work to come soon ..

Some other random pics.

This Porsche belongs to James Kaye who was a btcc driver .. he does a lot of testing with the Tgm fk2.

Great car aren't they. You'll find at the moment that the price of parts from Japan is insane due to the exchange rate .. I have a feels diffuser in my garage that cost me £1k , reluctant to fit it at the moment as my car plans may change ..

Hence the new mlr membership subscription.

I've always been intrigued by the FD2, I'm a huge Honda fan and have a nice spec 1990 Civic VT myself.

How do you find it compared to the Evo? I've always wanted a drive in one all the reviews I've read have been glowing, pretty much ready for the track out of the box?

They are great cars , I've had a few type r's and this is by far the best of the bunch. It's a combo of a dc2 but with the "luxuries" (if you can call them that) that the DC5 has ( climate control etc.. the handling is sublime. I have ohlins on mine which are great, the oem shocks are quite hardcore for uk roads. I have plowed a bit of money in to mine , which got me thinking .. do I really want to bend it on a circuit , I haven't tracked this one but did the white one ..

Since having a chat with a mate, I am having these crazy thoughts of getting an evo X sst , which is something I've hankered over for years , and a cheap EP3/DC5 to throw around a track, the thought process being that if I end up in a barrier it won't be an expensive pill to swallow...
