I have just taken my Evo V out for its morning dash to work, and the AYC warning light has lit up.

Anyone had any experience of this?

Any assistance gratefully received.

PS the car is under warranty.

According to my Workshop Manual and Technical Information Manual (Available on CD-ROM from Co-oordsport for about £50 inc VAT and delivery), the AYC light will go on if you remove the fuse.

Therefore, perhaps your fuse has gone?

Unfortunately, the manual is less specific about any other reasons for the light going on!

Only me!

If it's not the fuse, it could be a problem with the AYC computer (situated under your central console) or the AYC sensor, fitted to the rear axle.

Let's hope it's just the fuse...

The warning light has gone out again, handling seems OK, maybe a lose connection somewhere?

Thanks for the replies though

i`m of the understanding that the ayc light comes on when oil is low or needs replacing also if light does not go off after normal start up it is unadvisable to drive the car as this indicates a problem with it!! as ever ring co-ords

BEWARE!

I had the same thing on my Evo 4, rang co-ord and got fobbed off with not sure until we take a look.

A day later and about 100 miles of welsh twisty road fun and my rear diff was in pieces.

3 weeks and amp; £1400 later (with a second hand oil pump and diff) I am now back on the road.

Get it checked out. Or it will come back and bite you.

Sorry it's not good news but .... I wished I had the same advice a couple of months ago.

Mike
