ok had slightly noisey lash adjusters which were noisey one day but not the next and so on

so i brought some silkolene 5/40 as ive read this is a good oil

now my tappets are noisier ,sounds coming towards the right of the block and towards the rear not over the cam cover bit

now would this be still the adjusters? altho when i rev it still sounds like im driving a fiesta

seem to die down after about 20 mins driving but its annoying

the engine is an evo3 engine ,i have searched for lash adjuster replacements and found

i know evo400 sells them but basically im in need of saving as much money as possible cause 4th kids on the way

the evo400 ones are excellent but perhaps not really needed for the early cars

Save your money....go down to the nearest Proton dealer/good auto-factors & ask for lash adjusters to fit the Proton Satria 1.8 Gti 4g93 engine
- should be fairly cheap etc .....

look in the 'technical archive' section for details on how to clean/replace

will the hole still be small and get clogged up like on later evos?

they don't use the use the same engine
...but the lash adjusters are the same in the 1.8 4g93 & 2.0 4g63

that's more than uprated version...

- just trying to remember where i got my last set from & were defo Proton ones albeit 3-4years ago(e1 with e2 engine) at approx £75....but can't believe they've gone up that much !

I've mailed a possible source ...so will post when I get a response
