Got a problem...

My Ultralites are fitted with black lightweight nuts and one of the [email protected]@kers has cracked and we cant turn it with the Hex as it has split lengthways and so the cavity is larger than the hex.

We took all the others out hoping we coould jiggle it loose but shes holding firm.

How can I get it out? Anyone been here, done that? :(

A bigger hex key might do it? Is there much space around the nut to maybe grab it on the outside? Or maybe try and weld something onto the nut and get it off that way

had the same problem before. if you have clearance on the rim then bang a socket onto it an undo with a breaker bar. or, ive put a jubilee clip tight on the outside to try and hold the nut together as well as poss.....

Try hitting a star socket on the nut and undoing it that way, if it comes to it you could always run a chisel down it taking care not to damage the threads, then open it out further with a large screwdriver.
