Think I might have an air leak had a good look and tugged on some hoses(ha, ha) but cant find anything loose. Car has just had a new clutch and now the idle is up and down when stopped at the lights,thinking maybe something didn't get put back right. Would an air leak show up on the boost gauge ie loss of boost? Any other way to spot a leak?

Your problem may not have to do with an air leak (especially if you checked all the hoses).
But why don't you ask the people from the garage who replaced your clutch (what air pipes
did they remove or wiring, if any ?)

It is funny but the most times I had this sort of problem with an injection car the cause was
usually the fuel return valve (but not after a service).
