Advice please on unique Tuning approach

Dear Fellow MLR'ers,

I was recently made aware that you can substantially increase the bhp and Torque (especially torque!) by administering large quantities of standard kitchen issue Bacofoil to your engine bay.

This will have the result of making your engine bay look absolutely crap and as though you are some sort of complete dimwit, however you apparently get MASSIVE TORQUE

All these claims can be varified by the Tuner involved with a graph drawn by his Son with a red crayon - which he is happy to overlay with ANY other graph that can be produced, as long as the graph was produced by a child under the age of 12 months old.

Can anyone shed any light on this ?

Thanks in advance

Don't be soooo stupid. Of course it won't work on your 205.....
You need to use greaseproof paper for normally aspirated cars because you don't need the high temperature resistance of the tinfoil

Ahh,good job you told me that as im allergic to grease, brings me out in a rash, thanks

Is there no way i could use the tinfoil that was wrapped around my nans chicken last sunday as its covered in lard which is similar to grease

You could possibly use it but I hope you wouldn't expect me to cover it with a warranty should it cause any damage to your car.

Especially as your 205 is a track car and my parts are not covered under warranty for motorsport use ;)

Well listen Andy, someone has to be a pioneer of new technologies otherwise we all become dinosurs like Duran,so i will rumage around for the said tinfoil/lard combination in my nans bin and mould it around the engine ready for bruntinghtorpe on saturday,Bex and I will give you a full report on how fast it is upon our return :D

Thanks for some solid advice :D

Some of us cant afford anything gold ;)
I think the silver foil you mentioned was used to smoke crack, however if on completing this approch you do see a massive increase in torque, please pm me, as i would consider this option. :)

Why don't you just colour tinfoil gold? that's what RichEvo4 does with his jewelery :D
I'm guessing this thread is a p*sstake from another thread, but which one? I've not been on here for a while.

 not quite true

i do however use gold plated tin foil inside my vidal sassoon conversions to aid spool up and bhp ;)

but dont tell anyone ;)

Can you get gold Hammerite :D :D
i did ask moses if he could supply it, but to no avail :(

hence i single handedly gold plate the elbow internals.

How dare you! This is a serious discussion aimed at increasing the community's knowledge of this valuable branch of extreme tuning!
mosi

how about linking together some of those pie cases together, these are H3456 aircraft quality foil and come in various colours depending on filling (steak and kidney red etc)

just a thought
Would my Bum look big in it ?
All jokes aside - the secret to getting BIG bhp out of a standard evo engine is about to be revealled!!!

I don't have much experience of tuning with pie cases - but will indeed do some back to back testing with 19 dyno dynamics dynos that we use.

However:

Tuned and developed during the production of the '86 VL Group A SS Commodore Touring Cars - and direct to the UK.

The 'Energy Polariser' - now available through WRC Technologies. Do a search and see what you'll find.

Trade enquiries welcome - except those from evo396.

Cheers,

Chris

good example of what experts call False Authority Syndrome concerns Peter Brock :mockery: and his "Energy Polariser" ...

The car maker Holden (with whom he had previously had a good working relationship) could not be persuaded and cut their ties to Brock, forming their own performance division. The "Energy Polariser" was never shown to be of any benefit and has long since disappeared from the market.

Now, the lesson is this. Peter Brock was a superb racing driver, with more talent in his little finger than I have in my entire body. But does that make him an expert on combustion in petrol engines? No! Just because somebody is an expert in one field, that does not make them an expert in a related but different field. I have tried to stick to my areas of expertise on this site; please accept my apologies where I have stepped outside it. Sadly you will find many people, especially on the Internet, are quick to make definitive statements in areas where they have little or no knowledge.

You don't know what you're on about, of course they work
I've read the threads lately so I reckon that makes me some form of tuner ...

I'll take 4 .... one for each wheel :D
