My oil cooler has let go on a Ford 2.4 DURATORQ DIESEL ENGINE and the coolant system is covered in oil. I will be putting on a new oil cooler tomorrow and need to flush the system to get rid of the oil from the radiator, expansion tank and all rubber hoses etc.

Any tips or advice on a product to flush the system ?

Somebody mentioned to me today that a Persil clothes washing tablet would do the job and obviously to flush and repeat the process a few times. Does this sound plausible?

Forte petrol fuel system treatmemt in the rad, this will break up the oil witout affecting the rubber hoses.Fit treatment, run engine on fast idle (1500 rpm) for about 15 mins, then remove as many hoses as posible and flush with a hose, repeat treatment if nessesary.:smthumbup

Clothes washing powder/liquid will work, but it has to be Bio.

Forte works works really well, but it's expensive.

Give it a few flushes with the Persil.

Cheers,
