As opposed to other 'traction control' systems (like ESP), the AYC does not interfere with the ECU. It simply splits the torque between the 2 rear wheels.
It does not interfere with the brakes either, but I believe it uses the reading from the ABS sensors (among others like steering and throttle position, speed, etc)
If you can wait until tommorrow, there will be a full explanation of AYC in the FAQ's...it even has pretty diagrams Rallymans right though it just transfers the torque from one wheel to the other, no brakes involved.
