Just a warning for those of you living where its cold, and using R1R tyres. Below about -9 the tyres can start to possibly crack due to the properties of the rubber compounds. I know the UK hasnt experienced any cold weather really this year but worth bearing in mind if you have a very cold spell that the tyres can be affected.

To minimise the chances of this happening, consumers and installers are advised to follow the instructions below:

1. Do not move or operate a vehicle fitted with these tyres in temperatures below -9°C.
2. Avoid moving these tyres in temperatures below -9°C
3. Before mounting or dismounting, store these tyres for at least 24 hours in a temperature controlled environment of 20°C or warmer and always inspect for signs of cracking before mounting. Never use tyres that have cracked.
4. Remove the wheels from the vehicle and deflate the tyres to half the normal air pressure during prolonged periods of inactivity or for storage.

I heard about the same thing with R888s? Not sure if it applys to all semi slicks/summer tyres?

I only use mine in the summer anyways, pointless in the winter.

Had one of mine crack along the side wall/ tread surface transition.

Sent it back to Toyo they said it was over inflation.
