much experience in the later mate? lol
Yep... my friend was accused, had his name splashed across the Sun and local papers with headlines like "Millionnaire rapes student in mansion, then goes to get breakfast in his Ferrari".

Case was thrown out on day one of trial where the victim was demonstrated to have lied repeatedly in police statments.

He lost a year of his life, she wasn't even told off for what amounted to "attempting to pervert the course of justice" let alone prosecuted for it.

Oh and it cost the taxpayer at least £700k for a total waste of time.

I think that would be the worst feeling in the world knowing that you killed someone becuase you were texting! And now she has to live with it for the rest of her life. Certainly makes me think twice about texting while driving.

They moan about their safety on the PUBLIC highway (for which they don't get charged) whilst ignoring the laws put in place to keep them safe.
Well i'm a cyclist & I pay taxes, i've got 2 cars. Should I also have to pay tax for using a bicycle on the road?

I try stay off the road as much as possible cos there's far 2 many pr*cks in cars that don't seem to give a f*ck that if they clip you with their wing mirror they're prob gonna end up sending you under the wheels of the car behind them:mad:

Oh & i've also got third party insurance on my bike included with the theft cover. Don't tar all cyclists with the same brush. Yes there's plenty of w*nkers riding bikes that insist on riding in packs & taking up the road or a lone cyclist that can't seem to stay near the kerb for more than 2 secs & swerves all over the place.

Like I said, I try stay away from the road. I'm into mountain biking anyways & find riding on the roads boring.

You're also talking about safety & how cycles break laws put their to keep them safe. Back to speeding, the laws are their for safety so how can you say you can exceed speedlimit when it's safe to do so?

How do you know it's safe? Do you know if a child is going to run out of a garden into the road while you're doing 40-50mph in a 30 limit? Or an animal of some kind running out in front of you when you're doing 100mph on the motorway?

At the end of the day, laws are laws whether you're on a bike or in a car. Nobody from either group has the right to think they can break them, especially just cos you've got a shell around you.

We all break the law at some point. The guy got killed over cos he was an idiot. He didn't deserve it tho, no more than anybody else would if killed exceeding speedlimit unless they were doing excessively etc speeding & killed somebody else in the process

aye unlikely if he had suvived he would be on trial..only the motorrist.

i hate cyclists so much there just a danger to road users and have no right to be on the road
If its compulsory for motorists to have insurance and tax, then why don't cyclists have to have insurance and tax, after all they use the road as well.

i fall clearly on the side of Dont text when you drive, if you do it might be you dead......

especially if its an HGV that pulls out in front of you

texting+driving=total stupidity

its 1000% worse than talking on a non handfree kit! you are at least looking where you are going when you are on the fone and not texting.

should have been given a harsher sentance to send the right message IMHO

Its got to be said that cyclists really dont give a **** about anyone other them themselves. I'm a ex mountain bike racer, and do alot of offroad and on road still so I am allowed to have a go about bikes.....

They dont stop at traffic lights - just try not stopping when i'm crossing the road - a quick elbow in the face will soon stop em!

If they are riding with somone else then they ride side by side like complete pricks (only applies to the tight Lycra brigade)

If you can ride a bike properly then there is no need to swerve all over the road trying to miss the pothole.

Rant over - but they do make me ****** mad and then slag off the car drivers when they get close to em!

Sorry, went a bit off the original topic - if you text at the wheel of a car, especially one as fast and responsive as an Evo then your mad!

fair enough, but as I am expected to pull off the road to write a text or use the phone, they should remove their animal from the roadside and dismount if they wish to. all it takes is a second of no concentration and someone shooting in a nearby field......

In the same way that it's not always possible to park your car up somewhere, it's not always possible to park a horse up either. At least with a horse it is still sentient when the rider is not paying attention, unlike a car when the driver is not paying attention :)

They are probably texting a mate to warn them about a ****head in a car who thinks it's funny to scare a horse :mhihi:
