They moan about their safety on the PUBLIC highway (for which they don't get charged) whilst ignoring the laws put in place to keep them safe.
Well i'm a cyclist & I pay taxes, i've got 2 cars. Should I also have to pay tax for using a bicycle on the road?
I try stay off the road as much as possible cos there's far 2 many pr*cks in cars that don't seem to give a f*ck that if they clip you with their wing mirror they're prob gonna end up sending you under the wheels of the car behind them
Oh & i've also got third party insurance on my bike included with the theft cover. Don't tar all cyclists with the same brush. Yes there's plenty of w*nkers riding bikes that insist on riding in packs & taking up the road or a lone cyclist that can't seem to stay near the kerb for more than 2 secs & swerves all over the place.
Like I said, I try stay away from the road. I'm into mountain biking anyways & find riding on the roads boring.
You're also talking about safety & how cycles break laws put their to keep them safe. Back to speeding, the laws are their for safety so how can you say you can exceed speedlimit when it's safe to do so?
How do you know it's safe? Do you know if a child is going to run out of a garden into the road while you're doing 40-50mph in a 30 limit? Or an animal of some kind running out in front of you when you're doing 100mph on the motorway?
At the end of the day, laws are laws whether you're on a bike or in a car. Nobody from either group has the right to think they can break them, especially just cos you've got a shell around you.
We all break the law at some point. The guy got killed over cos he was an idiot. He didn't deserve it tho, no more than anybody else would if killed exceeding speedlimit unless they were doing excessively etc speeding & killed somebody else in the process
