Just a question to those out there with a bit more experiance of evos than myself.
I bought a brand new 260 in nov 94 and it was the first performance car i have owned, after years of using L200 and other 4x4s.I absolutely love the car but fancy boosting it to around 330bhp.i know this costs a few quid to do so the question to you all is:- am i better of biting the bullet now and buying another evo 8 330 and selling mine or to start tweeking my own car.anyone with any light on the subject care to comment?

cheers for now

Hmm... this is actually a good question as it may work out cheaper to buy a SH FQ330 as opposed to spending the extra dosh (approx 3.5k @ WRC) to convert your existing car to 330 horsies.

However, the advantage of converting your own car is that you know exactly how the car has been treated whereas with a SH car you may never get to find out the entire history of it.

whats the price difference between them i would stick with the 260 and take it to 350 plus

im still sure the evo 8 330 will be at least over 4k difference in price

330's appear to be going for around 22k at the moment. dunno how much a 260 is worth. I think WRC are quoting about £2000 to get the 260 upto those sort of figures.

But u don't get leather and sat nav and various other bits un bobs u get with a FQ 6 speed box etc. Also check insurance a standard car with 330 bhp will be less than a modified car with 330bhp. EG for me a MR fq300 modified to 340 bhp £500 a year more than a fq340.

If u just want plenty of go stick with the 260, if u want bits un bobs get a fq330.

Personally I would sell the 260 and either buy the 330 or a 300 for a few £k less and mod that ?

Or just buy an MR 320 ?

BTW - how did you buy a 260 in Nov 94 ?
Do you mean 04 or you bought a (260bhp) EVO II in 94 ?

edited to add - just seen the photo of your car !

Depends on what you want. I know of a deal for Autronics ecu package. PM me if you wish further details, although it is a good bit dearer then the Ecutek remap, which will also give good gains with Sam mapping it.

Depend what you want from it.
