Good afternoon.

As the title of this thread points out, I'm looking for information on fitting 16-inch wheel on an EVO6 with the standard 4-pot Brembo front brakes; namely for a hobbyist rally setup, just having a little fun on the dirt roads on the weekends.

I have looked into this by means of searching this forum, by actually trying some rims at a store and trying some of the rims my mates had lying around.

So far the following can be confirmed:
Yes, there are 16-inch wheels that fit the Brembo front calipers. But they are not common. While the overall inner-diameter fits with all the wheels I tried, the biggest problem is the offset or general design of the wheel that doesn't provide enough room for the calipers.
And yes. It is possible to do without the use of spacers.

One of the best options I found was the Compomotive TH2-1670 as used on an EVO7 in this thread:

Unfortunately, after getting into contact with Compomotive it appears these are no longer being made and unavailable for purchase.

A thread on evolutionm.net:

Which let me to a Russian produced rim, Agforged AG9 which even fits an EVO9. But I have not been able to find a seller outside of Russia.

During a visit to an EVO specialist, I noticed a set of OZ racing Super Turismo WRC. While 18-inch and used for an EVO10, the overall design allowed for a lot of room for brakes. The same design is available in 16-inch with an offset ranging from 15-50.
I am hoping to try these soon and with luck, they will fit.

If that should fail, I will have to replace the front brakes with a smaller set. Either sourced from a conventional Lancer or an earlier EVO model.

Since most of the information I found is already several years old, I was hoping to inquire with the EVO enthusiasts of today and see if there are options I missed.

So, bottom line:
Do any of you know of 16-inch wheels I can buy today that will fit an EVO6?
If you are for example selling a set of Compomotive TH2 or Agforged AG9 don't hesitate to make contact.
The same counts if you're selling the complete front brakes from an EVO4.

Thank you for your time, have a pleasant day.

As you've identified it is possible to fit certain 16 inch rims over the evo brembos but both offset and wheel spoke design are critial and it would be trial and error if not opting for a proven wheel design/size you know works.

Can I ask - why you are currently looking for 16" rims specifically? Most who do tarmac rally will go for 17 or 18" rims. Those who do gravel rally will tend to opt for gravel spec brakes and 15" rims. Tyre availability for the chosen discipline will play a big part in which setup you should choose.

The standard Evo IV GSR brakes are also Brembo's. If going for 15" gravel setup you could go for RS gravel spec brakes from evo's 4-9 (or aftermarket) and suitable wheels.
