I need information about GSR 1.8L. I`m planning to fit 1.8L turbo engine to my GTI (-95). To make it legal in Finland I must upgrade brakes and maybe suspension. So if you know about GSR could you post some details? Size of brakes is most important, but any information would be helpful. And if you know countries where GSR was sold, let me know.

Thanks.

The discs on a GSR are vented front, solid rear. My car is going in for brake work over the weekend so I'll hopefully get dimensions etc. for you.

AFAIK the front hubs on a GSR accept Evo calipers and discs without any mods (there is a thread on this at the moment on the GSR_Evo list at eGroups).

GSRs were only officially sold in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Drop by my site (url in sig) for GSR links and information.

I was recently looking at replacing the front discs on my 1800 GSR, and found out that the discs come from the Mitsubishi Space Wagon. If the Space Wagon is sold in Finland then I'm sure you won't have any problems finding a set of discs. The pads are also same as the Space Wagon, but I would not recommend fitting them. I did, and I suffer from massive brake fade after only a few hard stabs on the brakes. Best to find a pad with a quality lining.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Danny

Space Wagon is sold in Finland. With 1.8L engine and 2.0L engine, brakes are probably same(?). Do you happen to know yearmodel?
Thanks for your help.
