Which wheel are you wanting to fit?

Playskool do a range of bosses. There is a chart on there to identify the correct one too!

Cheers,

Hi, sparco or omp. Boss needs a square recess in it ,which seems none have.
Thanks

Cheers..sorry for being naive but when wheel is off there is a plastic circular thing with a yellow striker going around it and at the bottom a black plastic square terminal which sticks out for the wires ...does this come off before i put wheel on ?
Thanks

I think you are referring to the clock spring, it provides the electrical connection for the horn / airbag etc.

The boss I used was a "Splash" boss which is a rebranded "Works Bell" boss. It comes with the correct wiring mod to keep the airbag light off and fits with the clock spring in place.

I got mine imported from Japan years ago but the link that Owen posted above is for the UK agent for Works Bell. Yes they are compatible with all 6 bolts steering wheels like Omp, Momo etc.

Just checked and my boss was the 817s (s being for "short" as I also fitted a quick release hub)

If your car is a 5GSR then I suspect you'll be after the 817 or 817s but double check first.

Thanks for your help . Will ask the question.
Does the clock spring have to be removed ? Have been told fitting the wrong boss can have an effect on AYC ?
Sorry for all questions just might attempt it myself !

No my clock spring remained in place. Not sure about the boss having an affect on AYC.

I fitted mine myself and I'm not exactly a mechanic.

Thanks again .
