My 5 RS sprint/track car

I purchased this car in April from Jonndogg on here-link to his ownership thread https://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=478028
I had a 9 FQ340 that I did a few track days with, but always wanted something a bit more raw!

The spec as bought was nearly perfect for me-forged rods, s205, ohlins, and partially stripped.

As soon as I got the car home I took it to a local rally car specialist and got a bolt in safety devices cage plus seats fitted, and had him give the car a quick once over and an oil service. I did one track day in May and all went well, but the brakes seemed to be lacking a bit so I had an Alcon 365mm front kit with Pagid RS29 pads fitted, along with XP10's on the rear. I also had a fuel pump and battery isolator switches fitted. We also discovered a turbo timer hiding behind the centre console. Also managed to source 2 x carbon footwells from a 8 that fit quite well.

Back out on track yesterday and the car went superbly for most of the day. Handling and grip is fantastic. After my 1st track day I felt the car was understeering a bit, but I now have the ohlins set on full firm, the rear anti-roll bar on full hard, and running K21 Kumhos and there was not a hint of understeer. Unfortunately I am losing some water-have had a chat with the mechanic and it will be back in next week for what looks like will be a head gasket change.

Anyway, here's a few pics and sorry for the iphone quality.

After the investment in time and money I am definitely going to spend some time enjoying it! I would intend on keeping it for a few years as I cant see anything else that I could replace it with,
