Talking of trackdays...............

My last trip to Bedford Autodrome;

One word, balance!

I'm starting to get the suspension and diffs set-up, the car is very neutral with a slight oversteer balance on power, oh what fun!

Done for you Clive!

One old evo 6 gear knob (one I had from few years back) stripped down and leather stuck onto card.

Showing card side and punched original stitching holes to match.

New recovered knob in nice grippy suede!

Hi .... Clive

Idiot question of the day ! after digressing somewhat.

Page four second post of yours .... picture ?

Braided line which appears to possibly be from the turbo disappears from veiw under the thermostsat housing, and seems to end up, up the dust cover / boot where clutch arm comes out.

Guessing it's just hiding there .... Waiting to be connected later ?

Hi Del, they are two seperate braided hoses, the one from the turbo runs around to the back of the block and connects to the oil gallery.

The other hose is from the clutch hydraulic release bearing and in the picture it's just sitting there wrapped in a peice of rag before being connected to the clutch master cylinder on the bulkhead.

Probably not on track again till next year, last time I was out for a blast on road one of the solid lifter tips snapped off and it threw a rocker off. I can't get another lifter centre for about a month, so I'm going to carry out a few upgrades to the valvetrain, and maybe throw in my new Carrilo rods.

I might also strip the gearbox and get all the gears micropolished and shot peened while it's out and in the workshop.

Get some normal lifters in mate. They will do for now.

Will the micropolishing and shotpeening make the box much stronger? I wanna run a bit more power but if I do it will just strip 4th gear on the rollers again.
