Original Japanese reg help.

I'm trying to find the original reg of my VI, I have the auction sheet with photo's, but it appears the plates were removed before it got to the auction, which explains why the reg is not on the auction sheet, just the chassis number. I do however have the service book, with what I think is the reg number. I have done a bit of googling at it looks like it may have been registered in the Kobe area?

The number plate reads
Kobe 300
に 928

You are correct that the previous registered owner of the car is from Kobe

I’m not sure how familiar you are with Japanese number plates, but this is how the layout will look.

神戸 (Kobe) the name of the city goes at the top of the plate and also at the top to the right you will have the number 300 (this signifies a wider/larger car, as opposed to say something like a Corolla, which would have a number like 500)

Anyway, below that in big numbers in the middle of the plate you will have
・9-28
(Yes the bullet point actually goes on the plate to signify an empty space)
Also happens to be the date of my wife’s bday haha

Finally on the left hand side of the plate you will have the Japanese letter に(read as “ni”).

Hope that helps

Let me know if u need any other deciphering, like auctions sheets etc

Thank you, it really is appreciated!

I only got to know how they are laid out through googling etc.

How did you get the 'Hiragana' に ?

I didn't know about the bullet point, thanks for pointing that out.

I have the auction sheet with writing on, I haven't a clue what it says, it would be great if you could have a look at it for me, I'll forward it to you when I get home.

The に is tucked in between the 300 and the 928 in the top right
