Thumbs up FPV Spanky Burrator Bedlam

Hi All,

Here is some recent flights were I got to meet some local FPVers, the weather was not great but I had great fun chasing other objects around the sky and just couldn't resist getting among the trees.

Cheers badwool, have you been smitten with the mini quads or thinking something a bit bigger? I can not recommend the Hubsan X4 any more for learning to fly without the expensive repair bills

Hi mate,

Never flown but have a large, possibly too large, collection of rc cars and copters seem like the obvious next move.

Not too sure what to go for but I know fpv is what interests me.

Yeah as always brilliant stuff - I'm leaning towards that DJI Phantom mainly for easy of use.

you should be a step ahead having good hand to eye co-ordination from all your other RC fun. Again I get a small and cheap Hubsan X4, it will save you SOOO much money from crashing a big one. If you can fly a Hubsan X4 with fine degree after a few weeks or months then then you can fly any larger Tri, Hex, Oct.... with the confidence to control your multirotor without the reliance on GPS which is a great bonus as you are putting your well earned pennies into this hobby.

Easy of use=Phantom indeed, just be safe and learn to fly without relying on GPS so you can rescue your flying money

GPS is excellent and gives the RC world brilliant features like Return To Home or Position Hold etc but so many factors seems to cause adverse effects (VLOS, solar flares, setup) that's its always good to be able to fly without them
