Evo VII GSR (Vinyl wrapped)

Hi there,

After a few months searching around the net for a solid Evo, I finally found this VII GSR in Palma Red with only 66,500 miles on the clock. It had been imported 2 years ago by an MLR member through TorqueGT, and came complete with all the proper documentation - The engine has recently been forged along with many other nice modifications, so what I'll be doing is hopefully complimenting the work that the previous owner has already put in.

Here's a list of work/mods done so far:

The first jobs for me to get done will be a full service and all fluids with Dave at Henstead Motors... After that I shall probably focus on the look of the car, I'm not sure which way I'll go with it yet but the mirror tints are definitely on borrowed time

The tints had been fitted while it was still in Japan, they just don't really do it for me tbh - As for the bonnet I think a standard one would be a better fit, but it is starting to grow on me

It needs some paintwork doing, but thankfully no rot so just minor stuff really

Yeah, the previous owner was a genuine guy the car is a real credit to him - I'd been messed around a couple of times before calling about this one... I wasn't really sure about getting a Red Evo, but I'm glad I bought it

just make sure you use a good wax, they like to fade pretty quick if you don't keep on top of it

So true Oli, I'd already noticed that... I've had it for around 3 weeks now and I've only used it when it's been dry (It's not my daily), it's also in my garage but like you say it fades so fast - I've polished it twice using Auto Finesse polish, it looks fantastic for about 5 to 6 days then the fading appears.

I may get it completely sprayed and lacquered, or possibly wrapped - I'm assuming the Palma Red wasn't lacquered which is why this happens.

My first Mitsubishi was a 1983 Lancer EX Turbo in White, it never faded and always had a good shine!

Today I had a full service including all fluids changed done by Dave at Henstead Motors, it's been over 25 years since I last took a Mitsubishi here to be serviced - But Dave is still as passionate about these cars as ever, and done a fantastic job on my Evo... It feels and sounds like a different car already!

It was nice to see that he still has an old Evo III in the corner of the workshop, along with a Mk 1 Escort and a Delta Integrale!

It's been a few weeks since getting anything done due to bad weather and too many hours at work, but today I received my Cusco rear strut brace from RossSport - So out comes the toolbox and just over an hour later it's all fitted, a straight forward job to be honest - the trickiest bit was cutting the trim in the correct place, as you only get one attempt I did take my time

So, after thinking about which way to go with the look of the car... Iíve decided to get it vinyl wrapped - the mirror tinted rear windows are being changed to a dark tint, the brake calipers powder coated and all the faded exterior plastics are being painted, I also purchased an Evo 9 rear bumper and some black badges... Bits of the interior will also be getting wrapped just to freshen it up, and all the lights will be getting a slight tint.

I should be getting it back next week, so Iíll post up some more pics once itís completed.

Well, it’s finally done - After me being in SE Asia for 5 weeks, I was happy to be back so I could get my Evo finished!

The guys at Auto Vision in Lowestoft had the car for a week before I went away, and then for another week after I came back - They’ve totally transformed my VII GSR, it’s had a full body wrap in 3M cinder spark red metallic with the roof in gloss black, rear windows tinted, exterior lights smoked, brake calipers refurbished, Evo 9 rear bumper conversion, exterior body trims + door handles + grilles + mirrors all painted gloss black, interior wrapped gloss black and LED bulbs fitted... I can’t thank Danny and Darren enough for all their hard work!
