Great thread. Being a perfectionist with classics is an expensive and never ending business but the car will look fantastic once you're finished.

Out of interest what was the auction grade?

Thanks Rich ....mmmm we are not sure as we were under the impression the car was brought over in a container as we were told it was fully insured for the trip ... didn't think you could transport them insured unless they were in a sealed container ?? It has appeared over the winter & now means we will have to strip the engine down to get to the various parts !!

Thankyou .....yes, they are a never ending money pit
The car auction sheet shows it as being a grade 4....

You could say the more it comes along the more bits it's becoming... Red rooster recently said he had the world biggest jig saw puzzel... It's not in nearly as many bits as his tme (he is doing a fantastic job), but it is becoming a mini jig saw puzzel

I thought it was time to update this a little .....work has been slow recently but progress is slowly being made cleaning up the parts in the engine bay affected by the corrosion.... Also on the to do list is the the intercooler....anyway here is some updated snaps

That's ok, because I haven't even thought about cleaning the underside of mine yet ...I am following your thread with interest, the work you have done so far is wonderful. I am picking up lots of tips Keep up the great work

Thanks Andy .. Thought I would post the pic of both to encourage us to keep going

Each nut, bolt, pipe, whatever is removed is being painstakingly cleaned up as best we can prior to being put back on.
