Uprated actuator needed...?

When running an 80 series turbo at higher boost is an uprated actuator needed? Regards Ben

I run 1.9 bar peak on my 80 series. No issues with the standard 9 actuator.
Some recommend the turbo smart ones, but I've no experience with them.

Nope, standard actuator is fine for anything the standard turbo can throw at it, assuming the boost control is good. The right boost solenoid or boost controller is far more important

@phil2333 I dont think I will be going much higher than 1.8 bar so that's great. @stu8 good news, I run a 3 port boost solenoid controlled via the stock ecu

what stu8 said.
I had to upgrade my actuator since the HKS EVC V boost controller only managed 1.2bar at 100 duty cycle... but that might also have been a worn out actuator. With the upgraded one 60% duty cycle on the BC is enough to reach 1.5bar |
