Thumbs up FPV Spanky flying circles round a DJI Phantom

Hi All,

Here is the first flight I have done using the Spanky around another quad, it was a beautiful day for flying apart from the wind but that didn't stop the fun. Its quite clear to see what footage was from our GoPro's compared to the Mobius shots but in its defence I had not balanced the props and had been mowing ferns with them on some speed passes which has produced a lot of jello effect.

I am joined by my friend who has a DJI Phantom with a Zenmuse 2D gimbal fitted with a GoPro Hero3+ Blk, he is flying LOS while I am having fun around him FPV style.

3D glasses would be excellent, the new Fatsharks can do 3D now but its a bit over my price bracket at the moment. I am just using a single Sony CCD camera at 640x480 for my vision

Once you get a nice bit of momentum you only realy have to worry and up/down left/right which makes it get fun in close quarters. Its amazing how the mind works out distances and angles from the moving 2d image.

What sort of flight time are you getting? Would you rate the Phantom?

Ideal for a beginner the phantoms are I started on one too

Now fly a TBS Pro and for work a Dji S800 evo

Newer phantoms have better flight times so go for newer version if can

Think the new one is 20 mins max ,not 100% though !

@Mad4itboyo that video is incredible and VERY brave to spend so much time over the water, what a great subject to be filming, where they friends of yours?

Here is a picture of my Spanky

Those frames you printed mate will be used as soon as I damage this Spanky again, I am so looking forward to them as they are so much lighter than the Spanky!
