Hillclimbing my 5.

Well I had my 2nd event yesterday with my GSR and I have to say I am loving it!!
My first event went well with a new class record for my efforts but yesterday armed with some seat of the pants data from the first one we not only managed another class record but secured 2nd fastest saloon car overall, beating all but one of the slick shod Mod saloons and all Libre saloons.Really starting to chuck the car around a bit and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how responsive the car is even on road tyres.
I can't wait to take some weight out and fit slicks.
I will try and upload some incar later if connection allows.

Hi Kenny, I'm in Guernsey Channel Islands. The hill (Val des Terres) is one of the main public roads out of our town centre, it's well know among the British National Hillclimb Championship guys as being a bit scary because of all the Granite walls and no run off. I think it adds to the buzz. :-)

Here's the vid (if it works)
Cheers
John.

Car is 98 GSR with Tein coilovers (may change these though) Whiteline ARB's poly bushed 9x18 Rota Force drifts with Kumho V700 tyres in medium (bit hard but unfortunately that is as soft as they go in 18) Blitz exhaust,Evo 9 turbo, HKS filter in sealed airbox (homemade) heavy duty clutch, boost @1.3 bar.
Bottom end is standard ATM but the plan is to long rod it but leave it 2.0 to give me a few more revs.I'm going to run in Modifieds next season so a big diet is planned.:-)

how much do you want to spend?

the vbox with cameras is the best system for watching your videos in my opinion as it shows your speed. [email protected] has one for sale.

Glad to hear your still keeping up with record breaking

Putting the evo on a diet will see a few more in the bag as we already said.

Great effort well done.

Regards
Simon

I don't mind spending the money for the right stuff, I know Proflex etc is mega bucks but don't mind spending say £3k ish. I have gearbox and diffs to buy too plus some doors and other lightweight bits.
