Non silenced decat pipe

Hi,

I've got a Japspeed silenced decat and wondering about the sound increase with a non silenced decat. There doesn't seem to be much difference between my decat and sports cat so wondering about a non silenced pipe?

Not keen on a constant drone but on throttle volume would be ok.

Edit - unless someone in Berkshire region has one I can borrow for a week or so?

Silenced decats normal make 3 or 4 dB difference. Do you want more noise? They make negligible difference to flow/performance.

In my experience a silenced de-cat removes the drone inside the cabin and as said generally gives a 3-4dB drop at the back.
I have a plain pipe you're welcome to try out, I'm down in Pulborough.

Thanks for the replies.
Thanks for the offer, I'm near Reading though so it looks to be a 100mile round trip.
I'm not familiar with the db scale but 4db doesnt sound much?
Does the type of noise change? Raspy or bass etc?
Similar at idle but on throttle noise is different?

The offer is there.

dB is a logarithmic scale, the volume effectively doubles every 3dB from memory.

Basically it just reduces the volume at the back, doesn't generally change the note. The bigger win IMO is the lack of cabin drone/ exhaust noise inside.

I removed a straight pipe decat for a silence one because the drone on the motorway was really bad and the wife hated it. Plus we are travelling from Lancashire to Essex once a month

You can borrow my decat pipe if you mate. I'm about 6 miles from Slough

It doesn't make much difference to the sound but it does take the edge off and ALOT of the drone away. I could never go back to a non-silenced decat now. Especially because I have tomei ti
