As I’ve previously said such a shame but the info provided by Ant1 does make it a bit less gutting.

Luke has asked me to post, as he has lost his password and most likely can not be arsed

He has be inundated with requests for information, all the posts are here to see, he wasnt the owner when the car suffered engine failure/fire, so requests to be left to it

good luck to the bidders

Just want to make the point that not all cars from Scotland are rotten.

Query

Really keen to buy this just looking for advice. Iv been watching this since it came up for bidding. If itís thrown a rod it will require a new block and with the cat n registered now what will it do to the value?? I donít no what itís worth. Iv got 2 8s so a new block would not be a issue but I no it will devalue it not having the original engine in with matching numbers. Could rampage and Owen build a new engine to original spec to lift the value?

Exactly, some of the best examples up here, plenty nice ones about and probably more good cars than ever.Big divide with evos condition wise nowadays as we all know.Checking the weather nowadays before taking out evos, keep them mint and that's if there driven

Category write off will kill it to a degree but not end of the world.
Write offs can be sticky to insure with some companies and probably not applicable due to the age of this car, but won't get finance on one either.
Was a good specced car but was miles from a standard Fq400.Never driven a standard 400 but they weren't great in reviews,Modified Evo 8 Mr,based on Fq300 iirc.desirable enough model to be fair but are they twice the money
Its worth whatever you feel its worth, not much cars out there to price it against.
If your after a 400 and want one as they come, this will be a money pit to reinstate imo.

Read the thread.... the car is now an insurance write off and is being auction by the salvage company on behalf of the insurers,so no longer belongs to anyone off here.

Belongs to a friend of mine now, he works on them for a living and already has an FQ400 in his collection, so this one will be fixed and live on
