Best 450-480 hp setups??

Hello,

What's the best setup for all round driving fun on a fast road car at around 480hp ?

Best turbo ?

Cams ?

Other mods

What helps in spool and smooth power curves ?

Do all 450-480bhp setups run like s**t with more aggressive cams?

My 9 runs very sweet even with 272 cams...no lumpy idle or any other "issues" associated with the more aggressive cam profiles...

My car is on Speed Density which might help though..

To the op....

Standard Stage 1 mods, plus:

HKS 7460 - best spool and transient response for this power level
264 cams, though they may not get you to your upper limit number, so 272's may be needed instead
3" Intercooler (ETS?)
Aftermarket exhaust manifold (JMF?)
3" downpipe and TE (C-TEC?)
Injectors (ID1050cc?)

Then of course a rod job / drop-in / full engine out forge...DECENT mapper!!

And to get the best out of the additional power:

Decent brake set-up AND suspension (Ohlins?)

To do it all properly I'd put away at least £10k, maybe budget for up to £15k for any issues found and all those additional parts that you might as upgrade when doing the above...

What Evo do you have by the way? Good luck

You could argue the intercooler and exhaust manifold are overkill for that power level. Don't forget about items like the fuel system and clutch though.

yeah, a 9 with 272 cams will idle like stock provided it is on speed density... I built one with hks turbo and GSC S2 cams.. idles at 950 rpm and 14.7 AFR no problem..

Does the 8 with 272 cams idle like stock on speed density?
