Evo x ice

Hello
Sorry for the following long post.
I have just 'upgraded' from my VIII to a X (2011 FQ300) and found it much better in most aspects except the ICE.

I know there are alot of issues with the rockford fosgate system installed and ive read alot of threads about this but none seem to give me an answer or solution.

1st Problem
Im having is playing music from a device eg phone. It has the aux ports fitted and thats it no USB port in the glovebox or anything else. I have bought an adapter to suit my phone and one that converts to a usb but they simply dont work no sound coming through or anything. So any idea on this?

2nd Problem
If i have the radio on or a cd, the sound is just awful. Ive drove many vehicles some have been the ****test vehicles but even the sound in them is better than this system. When playing a track or anything really it sounds roughly like a 'hissing snake' all the time. I have spent hours fiddling with the setting on it but i cant reduce it or remove it. Im guessing this is not how its meant to be. Does anyone know how to sort this without buying a complete new aftermarket system?

The X is the only evo I've had where I've kept the original sound system, it's fairly decent. Are there any other X owners in your area you can compare it with?

^^ this, same for me. Only thing I have to remind myself of is the head unit is a 2008 design, so things like sat nav, connectivity via bluetooth, and the link between the phone and unit all feels a bit dated, but remind yourself its 12 year old tech, and then overall its good enough
