I've had an active search running for about a year. Having read what I could on the SST/Manual debate, I eventually settled on an FQ-360. Completely standard except a mild re-map.

2008
35 kmi
371 bhp
380 ft-lb

I have ordered the Ralliart mudflaps since stone chipping is a real problem.

Some peasant nicked the shift pattern off the gear knob (came like that). Anyone have ideas where I could source a replacement?

Smile 3 months on...

Well it has been 3 months now and it is a JOY to drive! Never owned anything like it before!

Some observations
  • Turbo lag: none, if you keep it over 3000 rpm.
  • Steering: turning circle is hilarious, heavy at low speed, but delicate and precise at speed.
  • Body roll: better than expected.
  • Fuel consumption: better than expected, 30 mpg if sensible, 25 with enthusiasm.
  • Cold 2nd gear: initially refused to take 2nd when cold (this seems quite common). After using the "Evo c-o-c-k-tail" (RED LINE 2 quarts MTL and 1 quart MT90, available from Opie) and bedding in for 500 miles, the improvement is amazing. Not perfect, but remarkably better.
Servicing

I recently went for a hard run up the Antrim north coast over some pretty poor surfaces, and there is now a gentle knocking from the front right. Cannot decide if it is suspension or drive-train. This brings me to the point of servicing in Northern Ireland: any suggestions?

The shocks are renowned for failing on those, happened to mine.

You can get some reconditioned ones, or go aftermarket coilover kit
