I'm pretty good on the self discipline front mate plus you don't have to accelerate to go fast, so I still got to rail it around a few bends on light throttle. Even with no boost, it still makes some nice sounds.

Quick update: The first session on the dyno found the limits of the ACT clutch at just over 450 BHP and identified a faulty new lambda sensor , so a new Exedy Hyper twin plate clutch will be swapped in so that we can dig a little deeper into the potential of the engine and turbo . Due to the ability of the twin plate clutch to endure considerably higher torque we're also going to try some JUN high lift cams instead of the current GSC S2's.
Other than the lamdba slightly affecting the idle, the car is immensely quick. I'm glad it has switchable maps, as even in its present tune, it's quite apparent that one map belongs on the road, whereas the other belongs on the track .

You lot just get to see the build, or at least the key bits of it, which I hope you enjoy.

I'm new to the MLR, so what you don't necessarily see is the 5 years of nomadic, high risk working lifestyle, self discipline, investment, frugality and patience it's taken to get to this point where I'm positioned to finally pull the trigger on a project to build the car I've always wanted.

I'm not showing off here, I 'd like to make that quite clear. I have nobody to show off too. My circle of friends aren't car guys. It's just me. Me and my private passion for JDM, tuning, driving and doing endless laps of the Nordschleife and drifting online on Gran Turismo.

I'm determined to do this build debt free. Debt gives us what we want right away, but it cripples us in the process and there's no fun in getting in deeper and deeper just to finish a project. I've been and done it that way before in my 20's, and you spend more time ****ed off than stoked. I'm 40 now and doing it the right way. This way has taken a lot longer, but has been a lot more fun, more rewarding and means it all gets done in one hit, by one garage.

I feel blessed that M.G. Motorsport have my back on this build, big time.

New Exedy twin plate clutch is in (slip now, you b------d). JUN cams are in (dugga dugga) and Mat has waved a set of SuperPro adjustable drop links under my nose too. Seeing as how it's been overhauled on the suspension front with the poly-bushes end-to-end, with the adjustable anti-roll bar and roll centre correction kit, Ohlins DFV coil overs and corner weighted, it seems a shame not to pop them on, so they've gone on too.

My strut brace is back from Simon's Dads powder coating shop and now compliments the rocker cover and existing powder coated pipe work. He's done a great job on a bunch of powder coated parts on top and under the car to better cope with the elements. I also went the extra mile and got a carbon slam panel from EPR Racing to go with the existing cam cover and plug cover over the top of the SparkTech Pro coil over plug ignition kit. So here's another engine bay shot for you (and me) to drool over. That's all folks. She's done. No more spending! Mat is going to put it back on the dyno and map it again with the new clutch and cams it should make 500 under 2 bar of boost, but we'll see next week how that pans out. I don't want any more than that.

I'll be enjoying it soon enough dude. I've just booked Spa Francorchamps and Nurburgring at the end of July.

LOL. Nooo! No more! There will be a couple more updates, as it's being dyno'd today by Mat, Bob and Lee down at Dyno Tech, and I'm still waiting on some 365mm rotors from Alcon for the front brakes in order to complete the car. The rear brakes are in stock ready to go on once the fronts arrive. Should be a week or so apparently.

I certainly have. The objective was 500 BHP with a wide, flat torque "curve" at a minimum boost level of ideally no more than 1.8bar. And that's exactly what has been delivered.

500/[email protected]

Good job everyone, well done. A perfect result.
