Evo VI Oz alloys

Hi, I'm getting some winter tyres for my 7.

Have a set of OEM Evo 6 Oz alloys which have 225/45/17 tyres on them at the moment.

Question: Will 235/35/17 fit the Oz alloys? (i.e. will the alloys be wide enough to take the 235 or should I go with 225's?).

Thanks.

Personally, I'd just stick with 225s, even if 235s "would fit".
A couple of reasons to my mind are that if you're expecting to "need" winter tyres - because you're expecting it to snow??? - then narrower tyres are better for use in/on snow...
Plus they'd generate and retain slightly more heat in really cold weather that would assist with winter grip in some instances.
I can't see any reason to go for a wider "winter" tyre.

All the best

Thanks for the reply.

Mainly getting them on as a precaution. Temps here over the last few days have ben below 4░ and I believe we will get snow this year again.

Currently have Michelin PS4's on the car and would like to keep them in good condition (put them on in October).

Was thining as much about the width but wasn't sure if the extra 10mm width and % sidewall height would make much of a difference to teh winter tyre.

Regarding a summer tyre, would the 235 fit the OEM VI alloy?
