Spare Wheel suggestions for Evo X?

Hey guys,

I have come to learn after a year of owning an Evo X, no spare wheel :-)

Just switched to PS4 tyres all in prep for a little road trip overs with the Evo. Thought I was ready to go after a full-suspension swap out and oil changes all round.

Looked in the boot and found an air compressor and some kind can of foam.

I was thinking of taking a chance and go with just the foam and compressor.

Thinking about it again, getting a flat on a mountain pass in the middle of nowhere... I think it may be best to try and get some kind of spare.

I have looked high and low, can't find a decently priced original Evo x Alloy. Only seen sets.

The last option is to go with any old spare wheel. Could anyone point me in the right direction in terms of a spare wheel? Like a like for like 18in wheel?

I have tried locating the original space saver, I can't seem to find any.

Been said to run equal size wheels.

Any help at all would be truly appreciated

In order to meet EU emissions targets the spare wheel was removed from our cars so you are unlikely to find any second hand and will likely have to stump up for a new one.

I believe 4250A800 is the part number for the spare wheel without a tyre and you can order one from your local dealership or someone else who supplies Mitsubishi parts - expect to pay around £260 though.

Other non-Mitsu options appear to be about such as the following, however you are still going to be looking at £235 but at least it comes with a tyre:

Alternatively if you just want a full size spare look for any scrappies breaking an Evo 10 and give them a call - the accident that writes the car off often damages one or more wheels so they are more likely to have individual wheels to sell.

As long as you buy any 18" wheel of same stud pattern, similar/same width and offset all you would then need is another PS4 tyre. And maybe also a set of 5 tapered wheels nuts (because most aftermarket wheels need that type).

Hi Sephiro / Phil

I had no idea the reason behind no spare was due to emissions.

Been searching for 18in ets35 5x114.3. Pretty hard to get a hold of. I'll be checking in with scrap yards.

Thanks again

You don't have to match the exact offset. An OE X wheel with a 20mm spacer still fits no problem, so you have a fair bit of leeway.
