Fresh import underside protection?

What are people's thoughts on protecting the underside?

Black under seal with added waxoil?

Just clear waxoil?

Painted body paint with stone chip under arches?

Car will be a daily driver, I'm thinking the normal black stuff and refresh it every year or two and add cavity wax. Downside is its a bitch should I ever want to remove it.

My 6 Rs I got from SVA imports has had the underneath done with the black waxoil as they said this lasts long than the clear and also had it cavity waxed with the clear waxoil

It's SVA's stock list I've been looking at. Is it a pretty through job?

The waxoil underneath is part of the price but I paid extra to have the cavity wax done which they remove the interior & cavity wax sills , A , B & C posts, inside all doors & also remove wheel arch liners & bumpers to cavity wax these areas also.

I had exactly the same done on my VI from SVA as Donk. Cost an extra £250 for the Cavity wax. They gutted the interior so it didn't get ruined as well. They are very thorough and do a proper job. They don't want your car rotting any more that you do to be honest. These guys care about their work. I can show photos of before and after too...
...The black stuff isn't pretty, but its not going to be seen and there to do a job...

Anyway. What are you thinking of importing? Your Silver VI looks good in the photos...Like the mod stages on the engine bay Still prefer the stock rims over the VIII ones as well. I will be getting a spare set of Stock VI or TME rims if I can next year.

Read the other thread, you looking at SVA IXs...

The guys at SVA did mine also, and if time, money, and know how didn't play a part then I would do mine from scratch like others have I'm not a fan of the "Black Stuff" but it's better than nothing I'm gonna get Raif and Neil to do the cavity wax at some point too, as VI shooter said " it's doing a job "

Cheers VI Shooter. The Silver VI is long gone, the guy who now owns it is on here sometimes. I kept the VI rims to refurb them then they went with the car. Engine was fully forged when it sold.

Looking at one of SVA's IX GTs would probably keep it a load more stock than the VI.

Under seal is deadly stuff, it actually traps moisture between itself and panels causing more rust quicker where it's trapped

Personally if it's clean, I'd wipe it down and have a Shultz stone chip applied or rust bullet first, and just use wax oil in all the inside of chassis legs sills and cavitys

Under seal is just used to hide a lot of factors and I've seen some right messes after it's been removed

Alright mate, good to see you back.

I'd go wi what Rich said. I hate that black crap,it actually hides/causes problems.

My 5 is spotless and I decided to get Extreme to paint it coz I'd like to know when it does start rusting. It's an anti rust paint but no sure what it's called.

Cheers Davie. I'm not quite back yet but it's looking that way.

Looks good under there. Think white might not be good on a daily. Maybe the battleship grey of silver evo engine bays... Hmm

You can buy the stone guard in black as well, but under seal I would avoid

personally if i was to buy a car that was black underneath id walk away ,it can find a multiude of sins

clear all the way ,proper waxoil is more than up to the job ,as said make sure you get some in the chassis rails especailly down the rear end removing the back bumpers the only way to ensure that
as for redoing it each year NAH dont bother done well once is more than enough ,these cars rot from the INSIDE ,OUT if your seeing rust its allready to late really your chasing it from then on,even if you do keep doi i tyour more than likly trapping mousture and crap under the new stuff your just adding ,there for compunding the issues later in life
some stuff on here is WAY to OTT theres places that dont even get wet that seem to be splattered with black stuff
