I am offering up for sale my much loved Evo VI, Tommi Makinen Edition. After over 3 years ownership, a change in personal circumstances means it is time for me to move on. This is my first Evo, but I can honestly say it is the best car that I have ever owned.
The car is of GSR specification, which means it comes with the usual GSR refinements such as AYC and climate control. Being a GSR it had the Tommi Makinen stamped Recaro seats, Brembo brakes and Enkei alloys fitted at time of manufacture. The colour is Scotia White.
This TME was first registered (in Japan) in March 2000 and was imported into the UK in June 2009 by Quality Cars Direct in Swansea. It was then purchased by a fellow MLR member who owned it until May 2010 when I bought it. The previous owner and I have both maintained this car to a very high standard and it has always been garaged. Both myself and the previous owner have, wherever possible, only ever used the car in dry weather and since owning it I have SORN'd it during the winter months to keep it away from the dreaded salt. The underside is in excellent condition and was undersealed with high quality Dinitrol products not long after my ownership started.
The engine is COMPLETELY UNMOLESTED and the ECU has never been remapped.
The car was checked over by Mark Shead, at M.A. Developments in October 2012 at which time all AYC fluids, gearbox oil, transfer box and diff oil were all changed. This was just 2000 miles ago. At the same time, a boost leak check was performed and the crank pulley and water pump pulleys were replaced along with a new alternator belt.
The timing belt, hydraulic tensioner, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, balance belt and balance belt tensioner were all replaced in April, less than 1000 miles ago. The work was done by Eurospec, Japanese performance specialists in Guildford.
The previous owner had a Sterling (Toad) Category 1 alarm and immobiliser professionally fitted in May 2009 and it comes with the certificate of installation and two fobs. He also had a new Helix organic clutch and Evo VII flywheel (which is lighter) fitted in October 2009, just 10,000 miles have been done since then.
Since I have owned the car I have added quite a few modifications which I feel have improved yet further what was already a fabulous example of a TME.
The brakes have been upgraded front and rear with Godspeed grooved discs and EBC Bluestuff NDX pads. I have also fitted HEL braided lines all round and use Motul RBF600 brake fluid.
The suspension has been lowered using to Tein S.Tech lowering springs and new front strut top mounts were fitted at the same time. The car now handles superbly and is still a reasonably comfy ride on the motorway.
The interior is in excellent condition. As I am so meticulous, I have actually replaced the front and rear seats with a mint set as the original driver seat had some bobbling starting on the bolster and the top of the rear bench was starting to fade. The replacement set are in excellent condition. I have also installed Defi amber/black gauges, in a gauge pod, new Ralliart mats and a Gizzmo shift light.
The wheels are the original Enkei items and are in very good condition. They currently have Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 225/45R17 94Y XL tyres fitted with good tread.
I have only ever used high quality products in my performance cars and this car is no exception. The engine oil is changed every 3,000 miles (or less) and the AYC fluid is changed every 3,000 miles (or less). The transfer box, rear diff and gearbox oils have all been changed recently too.

Having known this car for 3 years, I can vouch for the outstanding condition it's in and the way it's been meticulously maintained and loved.......and an added bonus of an unmolested engine !

The price has been reduced to £7995 and at this price I would be very surprised if a better TME could be bought for this amount of money. I am going to start advertising it on main stream websites, like PistonHeads, from tonight so if any other MLR members are interested (I have had contact from one already) then now is the time to get in contact.
No dreamers or time-wasters please. Genuine enquiries only. I will also not even consider allowing a test drive without suitable proof of adequate insurance.
