80 series upgrade

I have had quotes from universal turbos and midland turbos to upgrade my turbo . There is a large price difference between the two .. Would anybody who has used these companies care to share their experience with them please.

I have used Midland Turbo before to refurbish a turbo. I dealt with Lee.

I was highly impressed, they were good value, the workmanship was excellent, the service excellent, would definitely use them again.

Had mine done at midland turbo. Now it won’t blow past 1.5 bar. Phoned them a few times and was promised a call back. Never happened. Still waiting.

Universal Turbo's every time. Not the cheapest but as the old saying goes
" Pay peanuts get monkeys".

I've had a few turbo's done by them and they know their stuff.

Hi everyone, Thinking of purchasing an owen developments 80 series turbo from Rosssport, to replace the standard turbo on my 7 GSR import. Any reviews on this particular turbo? will it spool differently to the standard 7 turbo?
Also, may be a daft question so apologies in advance, but my 7 turbo is mapped at 1.5 bar, is there going to be a difference with the 80 series also using 1.5 bar?
Thanks,Lee

If you mean this one:

https://www.rosssport.com/Brands/OWE...-Turbo-Evo-4-9

...this is the standard 80 series that you find on an Evo 9 (unless you go ball bearing version which is an upgrade over OEM Evo 9).

It's a great stock frame turbo and I suspect at the same boost will give you more power since it flows more than the turbo that you currently have.

Good price too (check out the Ross Sport pages on here first in case there's any offers going on it )
