Norris Designs in Melksham come highly recommended. They have looked after my car well in the past

Who’s doing the build? I’d personally keep the build and mapping all under one roof

For normal servicing and mechanical work I can't fault any of the work Tipton garage have done for me over the years of ownership of my 5, for mapping I don't think you could wrong with either MG auto's or the previously mentioned Norris Designs both have well deserved good reputations.

A bit closer to you is GB Enterprises in Bridgwater, Somerset. They are on the forum.

I started a thread last week to see who had used them for mapping but I got no replies - here's a video of a 670hp E9 on their dyno

The evo 9 in the gbe link was built and originally mapped on a standard ecu at fcm and made only 7bhp less before the owner had a link ecu fitted

Very interesting, goes to show how good the stock ECU is! "And", as you're localish to me, do you know of any others using GBE? I'm based in Taunton so FCM is also a good local option for me, GBE is only about 20 mins away though.

Hi Guys,

Yea Grant and us at GBE tend to only do Link ECU's. We leave the stock ECU stuff to FCM and co. We have plenty of Evo's mapped on Links, but few on MLR it seems! The evo 9 power figure doesn't really tell the whole story, it did "only" make 7 HP more but it drives totally different.

Thanks.

If I was spending 2 grand on an ECU I'd want it to drive about 100 BHP different.

Anyway, here are those graphs adjusted to the same scale, I hope my photoshop skills are not misrepresenting them.
