That's very good of you to offer Mark. What's your address to send them to? Also what information needs sent with the ECU?

Got a reply from Autronic but it was more tests, I replied quick style with more questions but looks likely I'll just fire it back to them.

Thanks to Marks kind offer I think we should just send all the broken units in guys. Perhaps they'll take a bit of notice then.

It's a PnP SMC Ecu in an Evo VI, the problem I have is that the Ecu will not always switch on when I turn the key and sometimes when it does the Ecu light will flicker causing the fuel pump to cut in and out. If I leave the key at the ign position with the engine off the ecu will switch on and off randomly. When plugged in to a laptop it sometimes returns code 73. The car is not usable as it cuts out when running too.

Originally I thought the problem was with the Ecu or fuel pump relays but I have now put a factory ecu back in the car and it runs fine so the problem is definitely the ecu.

you're lucky you have the option of oe ecu, the V has a custom loom, every unnecessary wire has been omitted, so so maf wires etc. Sending the ecu just isn't an option as it's a daily driver and the turnaround will be months

Nightmare mate. I had to buy another ecu and maf for mine as I'd long since sold the originals. An option could be to get a replacement 2nd hand unit while yours gets fixed then sell the other one on once you have it back?

rev counter doesn't work, another was plugged in to test the car and worked fine, car is driving 100% but no revs is annoying!

That'd bug me. Something where it's enough to get to you but not enough to go without the car.

It has taken until now to get my Ecu repaired and back. Seems to be ok but time will tell.

Getting consistent replies from Autronic was hard at first but once going they proved helpful and although they couldn't recreate my problem they replaced components based on symptoms I was having. Fingers crossed.

Anyone else having issues stick with it but factor in a month with no Ecu to get it repaired.
