Question Considering Getting A Lancer - Any tips?

Hi guys. Noob here.

Been driving a banged up 1.4 Ibiza Chill (Chill meaning it has AC - which only works above 4*C - But my temp constantly reads -46*C Haha) since I passe my test last October. To upgrade to a Lancer 2.0 Di-D GS2 5dr my insurance only want 25 quid!

There's a nice blue one with around 30K miles, 11plate for 7.5K.

Does anyone have experience with this model?

There are also ones with around 50-60k miles for around 6k.

Any tips or info or warnings would be appreciated as I am not just a Mitsu noob to be, but just a general car noob!

Thanks. Dan.

This forum is mainly for the Lancer Evolution models but you may get a reply from a member who's experienced the diesel variants

The GS Lancers are nice cars, but they are 5hit slow, and I mean 11-12 secs to 60mph

The only Lancer to buy is an Evo

lol.. Not with 6 months of driving experience and money hungry insurance companies !

Making the step up from a 1.4 Ibiza, to the 2.0 diesel... Will it feel slow? lol

The 2.0 diesels are quite good.
They use the 2.0 tdi vw engine and are overall quite reliable apart from the egr coolers leaking vacuum.
