Thanks, but it runs not ok. So I downloaded OEM Rom (56910007_2011_EDM_5MT.hex) but this also shows greyed out tables in ECUFlash?
Can I write this or could it brick my ECU ?
The current rom is set for 1000 cc injectors.

Thanks, Rico

I was under the impression that you could back up your existing ROM with ECUflash so in the worst case scenario you can write that back. I don't claim to be an expert on flashing the ECU, however as I've got a UK car with a locked ECUtek ROM so I can't use ECUflash.

Thanks, yeah I assume so but with so many entries greyed out I am not sure if a flash works 100%.

The ROM is just a binary dump of the everything in the firmware memory so if you write a stock rom (hex/bin file) without attempting to change it you should be okay.

The greyed out entries I think you are referring to are due to you having the wrong or out-of-date XML definition file as the XML file is used to map the content of the bin file to what it actually controls thus allowing you to make changes. Without the correct/complete XML file ECUflash won't know which address in the ROM file each setting relates to - think of it as a contents page for the ROM. Similarly if you attempt to modify the ROM using the incorrect XML definition then you will likely get an undesired (potentially engine killing) result.

Essentially the XML file needs to match the Rom Id of the rom you want to edit. Do you know the Rom ID of the stock rom you are trying to load?

52680122 corresponds to the TephraV1 USDM 5MT rom for which you can download the correct XML file from:
https://www.tephra.it/v1/TephraXMOD-V1-52680122.zip

Which inherits from 52680022 which you can get from:
https://rallinspired.com/download/52...t-evolution-x/

Which inherits from 52680015:
https://rallinspired.com/download/52...t-evolution-x/

So grab all those 3 XML files and stick them in the folder that ECUflash uses which I think might be the following and the relevant editing options should become enabled:
c:\program files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo\

Thanks, I have all these xml files, so I guess these entries were not yet defined.

Thanks again for your help. Today I will try to flash.

Good to hear - I hope the car is running better afterwards.

I assume it was the 56910007_2011_EDM_5MT rom you applied this time as opposed to a vanilla version of the TephraXmod V1 rom you had on before?

Yes, on idle it runs great (after injector set to oem size)..
No, I modified the current rom, will check ofcourse if all is well.
Can I use a newer rom version (5691****) as I have 5268**** rom ? I read on a forum that you should use 5268**** roms.

I don't know for sure what the differences are, however I would assume that if the car is stock you want to use the map for the correct model/year of car as the differences potentially relate to aspects of the car that affect the map (like exhausts).

The 5268 is for the year 2008 car and 5691 is 2011. If your car is modded then I guess you'll need to tweak whichever map you use anyway, however I'd imagine it would still generally be easier to start with the base map for your model.
