I always did & kept the receipts. Oil change was circa £35.

Only paid for Cambelt and AYC changes & only did AYC every other service

The services tend to be very minor, £100 here and there. If £100 every six months is "quite costly" for you then evos aren't for you. What are you going to do when it needs tyres? Fit crap ones? When the AYC pump goes? Remove the warning bulb?

Evos require money to run and an oil change every six months is the least of it.

I have always serviced my own cars, however when you get to performance cars service history speaks when it comes to selling, I wouldn't buy an evo if i wasn't sure it had be done or done correctly at that. Even more so on ageing performance cars. Prices are not major money from most tuners/garages on here.

Couldn’t agree more.. and in my opinion it stuffs the service history up and it shows the owner was a tight arse

I do service my own. But only because I decided when I bought it that even if I should get bored of it one day, I'll just lock it up and keep it. I'm never selling it it's just part of the collection.

But if I had thought there might be a chance I would sell it then I would definitely have had it all done at a garage for the stamp in the book.
I'm put off cars that are advertised as having been served at home even though I do my own.

Yeah, these garages are idiots. You should only get your car worked on by someone who doesn't know what oil to use

I do all my own Servicing.

I've seen (and rectified) too many silly mistakes made by garages (including some 'specialists' and Main Stealers) on friends cars.

If i'm honest servicing on an Evo isn't much more complicated than any anything else, it's just more often.
Changing gear/diff oils is a doddle, and engine oil services are just like any other car.

I do most of the minor stuff myself don't see the point In paying someone else to do it. I'm never selling it so receipts don't matter all major stuff is done by a good freind at mitsubish for cash

Rubbish!

What if the owner simply didn't trust your beloved garages/dealerships and chose to service the car himself for piece of mind?

Does that make the owner an automatic "tight arse"?
