Can I ask what the Japanese script says? And where did you source it?

Cheers

Hi, it says Chicken Fried Rice.

(actually Mitsubishi Oils) Its a now redundant logo as the company is now operating under a different name. I made it from a photo using japanese fonts then adjusting the edges etc in photoshop then sending it to a friend who made it into a vector image. Basically it was really hard to do. You can buy them pre made but you are locked into the size they can supply.

Ah well, all done now and it came out spot on.

I have a banner for the windscreen to go on and some small ralliart stickers for the corner of the bonnet as well as plastidipping the wheels white. Should look spot on when it is all done.

I decided against the red bonnet triangles as I thought they'd be really hard to make work.

Update:

We thought the clutch was for a 4/5/6, so were planning on using the original flywheel.
However - when the clutch was offered up to the flywheel it turned out that it was a 7/8/9 clutch. New 7/8/9 flywheel was therefore required.
So one was duly ordered - arrived on on morning and I got the car back on Mon afternoon.

The Helix organic is a lovely clutch. Has a lovely feel and no untoward noises or heavy pedal action or snatchiness. Just works and is good for 450bhp - far in excess of what I'll be running. With standard internals I'm limiting to 1.6 bar boost which translates to circa 350/360 bhp.

As for the Mongoose 3" downpipe. Just fits and works. Slightly deeper exhaust note but not any louder.

Cheerz

And then TODAY was the final mapping session for the Autronic ECU with Nick, Lord-Guru of Evo.

New (smaller jet) boost restrictor pill fitted in turbo boost control hose, then mapped to 1.6 bar peak boost steadily decreasing to 1.5 bar at redline.

The final map makes the car wonderful to drive. The old-school Autronic ECU controls the boost incredibly well and is so SMOOTH in all areas, on and off boost, gear change transient boost control and sudden lifts and re-applications of full or part throttle - transients just don't upset the engine or drivetrain.

Proper Evo.

Helix organic is a good clutch. Gives stock feel but can handle more abuse. I remember extreme used to recommend it during their reign

Ruined the look of the car by adding some carbon wrap to the rear arch spats, they both had paint issues so I thought for ease just put some carbon wrap on them but it looks bad. You don’t realise how large the rear spats are till they are a big black mass.

Looks like it will have to go to a body shop to remove the wrap and paint.

Had a ton of PM's regarding this post

I now have a 2014 B8 RS4 V8 so the Evo had to go, that's it, planned to keep the Evo but the Audi is mental in standard form, being na, tuning is mega expensive but just wanted a car to buy and enjoy. ****pit, handling, launch control, boot space (estate) and the sheer speed and noise is ridiculous fun and makes me smile more than my VI did. Keeping it standard for now. Evo went to free up funds, nothing more, if I could afford it too I'd have kept it.

Not a hate post, will keep an eye on this forum as I love evos! Was my poster car as a kid.

Cheers

David
