Hi Alex,

Forgot to note down on the piece of paper that I gave you regarding when to service & change transmission fluids etc make sure when giving an oil & filter change you also change the plugs with it they're not expensive at all as I use the NGK BPR8ES & have them gapped to .55mm & then have them fitted.

The next meet you can attend to buddy is on the link below:

Six years on.............. about 10 owners later................

Donít know what happened in that time but she has been beaten on pretty hard. I am in the process of rebuilding the old girl and will hopefully get round to doing a resto thread at some point.
Is great to see that she has been loved before and nice to know what it used to look like

Thanks for getting in touch! I was hoping by hijacking an old thread I might find some history on the car. The car seems to pop up all over lots of old posts.
I bought it with only a couple of months mot on it expecting it would need a little work but nothing too major.
Turns out the car had been having more and more fibreglass in the back end of it for probably the last 5 mots! There was ALOT of really quite concerning repairs on it including on the brakes and suspension. Front chassis rails were also destroyed as the channel had been crushed by being picked up with a forklift....
So far she has had new front rails, repairs to the floor pan, both rear legs replaced with crossmember, new back arms (originals split where someone had badly pressed new bushings in. Luckily they had repaired it with epoxy though.........) new coil overs, polybushed front and rear, all new hubs, all Brembos refurbished with new brakes all round, rebuilt rear diff and ayc pump, adjustable anti roll bars etc etc
It’s been a mission just to get the car back to a solid decent rolling shell.
I will rebuild the motor and give it a refresh and I am still to find a new gearbox as the original was found to have a split bell housing causing clutch misalignment. This has been tig welded in the past. It has certainly been a can of worms lol!

That's what happens when someone thinks they can 'afford' an Evo because they can afford to pay to buy it, but not much else. Downhill from there.

Good to see it's getting some love though

Sad Times when I had to sell due to family expansion back in 2007 it went up north, Scotland I believe from my home town in Norfolk..

Sounds like she was mistreated for some years..

Good to see it having a proper overhaul..

Good work Pete R42GCL
